We had such a fabulous weekend, Dad was so overwhelmed when we drove in and said we were staying the weekend. Then he lit up and told so many stories to my boys about his time there when he was younger. The beauty of the property is just as I remember it around 25 odd years ago when the property was still in the family. I had a chat with Dad (John) on the weekend about the ledger you sent me. So after the war Tom Elliott was gifted a 99 year lease on land in the area so they got point lookout which Dad thought then was around 2500acres and land at Deervale near Dorrigo and they would go between the two. The cottage when I used to visit with Dad as a kid was just as Hannah had left it, all her hair pins, magazines, cards all in the verandah room which is now the laundry. Was so special being there and we will definitely be back but for longer. I’m so grateful it is a place we can come visit.
